Released Manjaro Linux 16.06 with new Vertex-Maia theme

Manjaro project proudly announced the Manjaro Linux 16.06 code name Daniella on today June 6, 2016 few hours back. The Xfce edition is a main desktop for manjaro its a flagship offering clean, polished, integrated and leading-edge Xfce experience with Xfce 4.12.

This release mainly focused on polishing the user experience on the desktop and window manager. updated some components to take advantage of newly available technologies based on Arch Linux most recent rolling release.

Also users can switch to a new Vertex-Maia theme which already using known as Maia for manjaro KDE edition.

KDE edition continues to deliver outof box with Plasma 5.6 desktop in combination with the latest KDE-Apps 16.04. Created a kcm module to integrate MSM seamlessly into System-Settings of Plasma 5.

It shipped with Kernel 4.4 LTS as the latest drivers available to date. Manjaro Settings Manager (MSM) now provides an easy-to-use graphical interface for installing and removing the many series of kernels manjaro offer.

Installation media has been improved and polished. Pamac 4.0 they have switched to CSD design. Guillaume was working for some time on this new design for pamac and futures are.

How to upgrade Manjaro to latest version

To upgrade Manjaro to latest release, just fire the below single command.

$ sudo pacman -Syu

Many user will face error message when you upgrading the system such as keyrings Error.

:: Proceed with installation? [Y/n] y
(547/547) checking keys in keyring                 [######################] 100%
downloading required keys...
error: key "8DB9F8C18DF53602" could not be looked up remotely
error: required key missing from keyring
error: failed to commit transaction (unexpected error)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

Just fire the below commands

$ sudo pacman -Sy archlinux-keyring manjaro-keyring
$ sudo pacman-key --populate archlinux manjaro
$ sudo dirmngr < /dev/null
$ sudo pacman-key --refresh-keys
$ sudo pacman -Syu
