MuPDF 1.8 Released with 64-bit file support

MuPDF is an free open-source, lightweight PDF, XPS and OpenXPS viewer written in C. it’s good speed, small code size and high-quality anti-aliased rendering engine. It supports PDF 1.7 with transparency, encryption, hyperlinks, annotations, searching and more. Since MuPDF 1.2 they added support for form filling, javascript and transitions.

1) MuPDF installation

Add the below PPA to install MuPDF in Ubuntu/Linux Mint.

# Adding MuPDF PPA #
[email protected]:~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/apps

# Update repository index #
[email protected]:~$ sudo apt-get update

# Install MuPDF #
[email protected]:~$ sudo apt-get install mupdf mupdf-tools

# Remove MuPDF #
[email protected]:~$ sudo apt-get remove mupdf mupdf-tools
