Mageia is a community distribution which started as a fork of the Mandriva project, but which now operates as an independent distribution. The Mageia community proudly announced the general availability of Mageia 5, on June 19, 2015. After more than one year of development with lots of new features which will give separate identification to Mageia.
1) Booting Computer with Mageia 5 installation media.
Boot your computer with Mageia 5 installation media like (Burned CD/DVD or ISO image). After booting from your installation media it will display the below screen.
2) Choose your language
Choose your language, then hit Next.
3) Accept License agreement
Accept License agreement, then hit Next.
4) Keyboard layout Selection
Choose your preferred Keyboard layout to set default one, then hit Next.
Choose the partitioning method, then hit Next.
6) Media Selection
Choose the required media selection, then hit Next.
You must choose both Media option to support all the drivers, then hit Next.
7) Desktop Selection
Choose the desktop which you want to install, then hit Continue.
8) Installation under process
Mageia 5 installation under process and it will take a while to complete.
9) User Management
setup administrator password and create the new user for managing, then hit Continue.
Choose plug’n play monitor, then hit Next.
Modify timezone & country, then hit Next.
Choose to YES to download the new updates to make your system to upto date, then hit Next.
Updates are currently running.
13) Installation Completed
Mageia 5 installation completed, then hit Reboot.
14) Mageia login screen
Mageia 5 login screen, Enter the password, then hit Enter.
15) Mageia home screen
Mageia 5 home screen.
16) Mageia version checking
