Install Slimjet (8.0) Web Browser on Linux

Slimjet formaly known as Slimboat is a ad-free, lightweight, super fast & super power in slim package, and free web browser. It built on top of the Chromium open-source project with same speed and reliablity also added many additional features and options in Slimjet to make it more powerful, intelligent and customizable than Chrome. Slimjet DOES NOT send any usage statistics back to Google’s server like Google Chrome which is ultimate for privacy. Slimjet is compatible with all extensions and plugins designed for Google Chrome available from the Chrome web store. The latest version of Slimjet 8.0.4.0 released on March 08, 2016. Alternatively you can install bunch of other Web Browsers such as Google chrom, Firefox, Opera, PaleMoon, etc..,. too.

1) Install Slimjet on Debian, Ubuntu & Mint

We can easily install Slimjet Web Browser on Debian based systems such as Debian, Ubuntu, Mint & ElementryOS using DEB file. Visit Slimjet download page and download latest version, then proceed installation.

[For 64-bit DEB based systems]
$ wget http://www.slimjet.com/release/archive/8.0.4.0/slimjet_amd64.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i slimjet_amd64.deb

[For 32-bit DEB based systems]
$ wget http://www.slimjet.com/release/archive/8.0.4.0/slimjet_i386.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i slimjet_i386.deb

2) Install Slimjet from source

We can easily install Slimjet Web Browser on all Linux distribution such as SUSE, CentOS, Mint, Fedora, RHEL, Slackware, etc through source archive. Visit Slimjet download page and download latest version, then proceed installation.

[For 64-bit systems]
# wget http://www.slimjet.com/release/archive/8.0.4.0/slimjet_amd64.tar.xz
# tar xf slimjet_amd64.tar.xz
# cd slimjet
# ./flashpeak-slimjet

[For 32-bit systems]
# wget http://www.slimjet.com/release/archive/8.0.4.0/slimjet_i386.tar.xz
# tar xf slimjet_i386.tar.xz
# cd slimjet
# ./flashpeak-slimjet 

Enable the sand box (admin access required). After that, you can run it from anywhere.
install-slimjet-web-browser-on-linux
