Install QMPlay2 16.02.08 (Media Player) on Linux

QMPlay2 is a Free, open-source, cross-platform video and audio player based on QT. It can play all formats supported by FFmpeg, libmodplug (including J2B and SFX). It also supports Audio CD, raw files, Rayman 2 music and chiptunes. It contains YouTube and Prostopleer browser. The latest version of QMPlay2 16.02.08 released on February 08, 2016.

1) Install QMPlay2 on Ubuntu/Mint

We can easily install latest version of QMPlay2 by adding below PPA into our Ubuntu & Mint systems such as Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 15.10 & 16.04, LinuxMint 17.1, LinuxMint 17.2 & LinuxMint 17.3.

$ sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:samrog131/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install qmplay2

2) Install QMPlay2 on Archi & Manjaro

We can easily install latest version of QMPlay2 by adding AUR Repo into Archi & Manjaro systems.

$ sudo yaourt -S qmplay2

3) Install QMPlay2 on openSUSE

We can easily install latest version of QMPlay2 by Enabling Packman repository.

# zypper in QMPlay2 QMPlay2-kde-integration

install-qmplay2-media-player-on-linux
Enjoy….)

  1. Mlauzon,
    The PPA dropped support for Trusty and Linux Mint 17.x series based on Ubuntu 14.04. No option to install from PPA and alternatively we can install from Source.
