Install MyPaint (Graphics Editor) 1.2.0 on Linux

MyPaint is an Free, open source, fast and easy graphics app for digital painters. Its main features are a highly configurable brush engine, speed, and a fullscreen mode which allows artists to fully immerse themselves in their work. It’s similar as Microsoft Windows Paint. The latest version of MyPaint 1.2.0 released after 3 years of development on January 15, 2016.

1) Install MyPaint in Ubuntu & Mint

We can easily install latest version of MyPaint in Ubuntu & Mint system using theire official PPA.

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:achadwick/mypaint-testing
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install mypaint

2) Install MyPaint in Ubuntu/Mint/Debian

We can easily install MyPaint in Debian based system using theire official Repo.

$ sudo apt-get install mypaint

3) Install MyPaint in Fedora

We can easily install MyPaint in Fedora system using their official Repo.

$ sudo dnf install mypaint

4) Install MyPaint in RHEL/CentOS

We can easily install MyPaint in RHEL/CentOS system by enabling Nux Dextop Repository.

$ sudo yum install mypaint

5) Install MyPaint in openSUSE

We can easily install MyPaint in openSUSE system using frispete:graphics Repo.

# Install frispete:graphics Repo for openSUSE 42.1 #
zypper addrepo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:frispete:graphics/openSUSE_Leap_42.1/home:frispete:graphics.repo
zypper refresh
zypper install mypaint

# Install frispete:graphics Repo for openSUSE 13.2 #
zypper addrepo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:frispete:graphics/openSUSE_13.2/home:frispete:graphics.repo
zypper refresh
zypper install mypaint
