Antu Universal Icon Theme for Linux Desktop’s

Antu Icon Theme is another great icon theme which inspired in some elements from OS X, Android and Flyme. The idea is make a soft and clean set, an alternative for Breeze. Originally this icon theme designed for KDE desktop later ZMA forked Antu-universal and made it available for all other Linux Desktops such as Unity, Gnome, Xfce, Lxde, Mate, Cinnamon and others. Antu version for KDE desktop offers two variants Light & Dark approximately 1500+ icons and Antu-universal offering double of the icons approximately 3000+ icons.

1) Install Antu Universal Icon Theme on Linux Desktop

Manually we can install the Antu Universal Icon Theme to all the Linux Desktop by downloading Antu Universall Icon Theme from developer yandex storage and extract to /usr/share/icons directory.

$ cd /usr/share/icons
$ sudo tar -xzvf Antu-universal icons.tar.gz
$ sudo rm -Rf Antu-universal icons.tar.gz
$ cd Antu-universal icons
$ sudo mv Antu-universal Antu-universal-mono Antu-universal-orange Antu-universal-symbolic-blue Antu-universal-symbolic-orange Antu-universal-symbolic-white Antu-universal-white /usr/share/icons

2) Install Antu Universal Icon Theme on Ubuntu/Mint via PPA

Install Lila HD Icon Theme to Ubuntu, 16.04, 15.10, 15.04, 14.10, 14.04 & Mint 18, 17.3, 17.2, 17.1

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/icons2
$ sudo apt-get update 
$ sudo apt-get install antu-universal-icons

3) Choose the Icon

Finally choose the Icon based on the desktop environment tool to activate it.

  • GNOME Desktop: Gnome Tweak Tool >> Appearance >> Choose the Icon from the drop-down box followed by “Icons” >> Finally close the App
  • Unity Desktop: Unity Tweak Tool >> Appearance >> Icon >> Choose the desired icon from the list >> Finally close the App
  • Cinnamon Desktop: Menu >> Appearances >> System Settings >> Theme >> Choose the desired icon from the drop-down box >> Finally close the System Settings
  • LXDE Desktop: Menu >> Appearances >> Customize Look and Feel >> Icon Theme >> Choose the desired icon from the list >> Apply >> Finally close
  • XFCE Desktop: Menu >> Settings >> Appearance >> Icons “Choose the desired icon from the list” >> Finally close
