Fedora 22 workstation installation steps with screenshot
Fedora project team recently released Fedora 22. We have already covered in our previous article, what’s new in Fedora 22 & how to upgrade from fedora 21 to fedora 22 using fedup method. In this article I’m going to show, how to install fedora 22 KDE workstation steps with detailed screenshots.
Download Fedora 22 images
There are multiple desktop flavours available for download.
- Download Fedora 22 GNOME ISO
- Download Fedora 22 other Desktop environment ISO
- Download Fedora 22 server ISO
- Download Fedora 22 Cloud image
1) Booting Computer with Fedora 22 installation media
Boot your computer with Fedora 22 installation media like (Burned CD/DVD or ISO image). Choose Start Fedora Live and hit Enter to initiate the Fedora 22 installation or else it will start automatically within few seconds.

3) Choosing Hard Drive
4) Language Selection
5) Installation Summary
6) Installation destination Selection
Here is the most important area because we are going to partition our hard disk. Choose I will Configure Partitioning. then hit done.
Manual Partitioning pop-up window allow you to create all required partition. Click + button and choose mount-point and enter the desired size, then hit Add Mount Point.
Do the same as per your requirement.
Click + button and create /boot partition.
Click + button and create /home partition.
Click + button and create /var partition.
Click + button and create /swap partition. Make sure swap should be double size of physical RAM.
See the partition summary. then hit Done
Write the partition on your hard disk.
Summary got over, then hit Begin Installation to initiate the fedora 22 installation.
Installation under process.
7) Set Root Password
8) Create new user
9) Installation got Completed.
Now, installation got completed and hit the Quit button. It will reboot.
Enter the password for your user to get into your system.
